Job Description
A leading healthcare institution in downtown Houston is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing to lead the Emergency Department. As a certified Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, the ED is recognized for its commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Oversee and manage all nursing operations within the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.
- Quality Improvement: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to maintain accreditations and uphold a reputation for excellence.
- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain a skilled nursing team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Compliance: Ensure all practices and procedures comply with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of nursing experience in an emergency department setting, with at least three years in a leadership role.
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Emergency Severity Index (ESI) certifications preferred.
