Senior Facilities Technician II

Contract through end of 2025 then can renew

The SR. Facilities Tech I performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of complex utility systems within client GMP QC laboratory and manufacturing facilities. Equipment/systems include but is not limited to HVAC systems, cold storage, compressed air and gas systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Water for Injection (WFI) systems, wastewater treatment, clean steam generation, fire detection/suppression, boilers, pumps/motors, etc. The SR. Facilities Tech I will also perform corrective and preventive maintenance on GMP lab instruments and process equipment such as bioreactors, filling machines, centrifuges, rockers, chromatography columns, autoclaves, and glass washers. 

 

With minimal oversight, the SR.Facilities Tech I must be able to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications to effectively perform troubleshooting and repair activities.

 

Responsibilities – (Describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job. Approximately 8-10.):

Strategic Focus Areas: 

  1. Assist in troubleshooting complex electrical and controls issues on all building systems and equipment.
  2. Maintain all facility equipment and systems at optimum levels of performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  3. Ensure that all facilities and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with current internal and external requirements for safety, quality, regulatory environmental, and compliance standards.
  4. Commit to continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of new ideas that positively impact a segment or area of the organization and its overall performance.  

5.     Collaboratively work to resolve issues and improve overall organizational performance. 

6.     Actively promote safety rules and awareness. Always demonstrate good safety practices including appropriate use of protective equipment. Reports and takes initiative to correct safety & environmental hazards.

7.     Perform and document all corrective and preventative maintenance activities performed on GMP facility equipment and/or systems in accordance with GDP requirements.

8.     Respond to emergency service calls and resolve identified issues in accordance with all safety, quality and compliance requirements.

9.     Participate in cross functional teams created to perform investigations, root cause analysis, deviation/CAPA creation or improvement opportunities as needed.

10.  Participate in an On-Call rotation for off hour facility emergencies.

11.  Ensure that all required quality and safety training is completed on time and current. 

12.  Occasional travel between the Woburn and Bedford sites.

 

Requirements – (List the education and experience required to perform the primary responsibilities of the job. Also include certifications, special skills, licenses, and travel requirements.):

 

  1. HS diploma and 3-5 years of experience working in a GMP or regulated environment required.
  2. Experience working for a maintenance organization in a GMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical
  3. manufacturing environment.
  4. Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is preferred.
  5. Assist with sourcing/ordering parts required for facility/manufacturing equipment repairs. 
  6. Experience working within CMMS systems is required, “Blue Mountain RAM “CMMS is preferred.
  7. Develop/maintain MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) spare part inventory 
  8. Licensure any of the following areas is preferred: Wastewater Treatment, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Electrician, or Plumbing.

8.     Must demonstrate ability to work independently, make effective decisions, resolve technical issues, and manage time effectively.

9.     Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and be able to effectively interact with all levels of the organization across all departments.

10.  Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively to achieve timely results.

11.  Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Products such as Word and Excel or equivalent software applications is required.

12.  Familiarity with safety procedures such as LOTO, Confined Space, Energy Control procedures, Arc flash, etc.
