Job Description

Title: HR Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational components of the HR department, including onboarding, record management, and personnel changes
  • Manage the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of data in the HRIS system
  • Supervise and support an HR Specialist, assigning daily tasks and reviewing work for quality and timeliness
  • Lead employee onboarding, ensuring hiring packets and compliance documentation are processed correctly
  • Serve as a liaison to program managers and administrative hubs for all employee changes (transfers, payroll updates, etc.)
  • Develop and refine departmental procedures to improve workflow efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and labor regulations through audits and quality control
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align HR operations with organizational goals
  • Prepare written procedures, documentation, and training materials as needed
  • Provide support for special HR initiatives and compliance projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS platforms required
  • Proven track record of managing HR operations in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage staff at all levels
  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and discretion with confidential matters
  • Prior experience in the nonprofit or human services sector is a plus
