Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures, ensuring they are comfortable.
- Assisting During Procedures: Hand instruments to the dentist, take dental impressions, and assist with fillings, extractions, and other procedures.
- Sterilization and Setup: Sterilize dental instruments and prepare examination rooms between appointments.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, update and maintain patient records, and handle billing and insurance details.
- Radiography: Take and process dental X-rays.
- Patient Education: Advise patients on oral hygiene practices and post-procedure care.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assistant program is often preferred.
- Certification: Certification from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) may be required or preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work well in a team, and proficiency in using dental software and equipment.
