Radiologic Tech

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Imaging Procedures: Follow physician instructions to determine which area of the body needs imaging and correctly position the patient 
• Operate Equipment: Calibrate and operate imaging equipment, ensuring accurate results while minimizing radiation exposure 
• Patient Interaction: Explain procedures to patients, answer their questions, and help reduce their anxiety 
• Safety Practices: Apply and maintain up-to-date knowledge of radiation protection and safety practices 
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed patient records and manage radiology supplies inventory 

Qualifications:

• Education: Typically requires completion of an accredited radiography program, which may be college-based or hospital-based 
• Skills: Strong background in math and science, excellent communication skills, and critical thinking abilities 
• Certification: Certification from an accredited radiography program is often required
