Operating Room Nurse Manager

Position Overview

The Operating Room Manager Nursing position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a surgical nursing department at a premier ambulatory surgery centers in Southern California. This nursing leadership role combines clinical expertise with management responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Manager is responsible for the overall functioning of the Nursing Department while ensuring adherence to our clinical quality standards. As an experienced Registered Nurse, the Operating Room Manager will:

  • Assess, plan, evaluate, and ensure implementation of patient pathways to achieve identified outcomes
  • Assume a leadership role in providing quality nursing care throughout the surgical department
  • Demonstrate continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals with age-specific needs
  • Maintain and develop clinical competencies across the nursing team
  • Supervise daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of the surgical unit
  • Collaborate with physicians, staff, and administration to improve operational efficiency
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Participate in budget planning and fiscal management
  • Support staff development and education
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards

Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure in the state
  • 3-5 years of perioperative nursing experience
  • Management or leadership experience in a surgical setting
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN, Master's degree in Nursing/Management preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols
  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies
