This is a critical leadership role where you’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team supporting orthopedic surgeons, PAs, and internal medicine providers in a fast-paced inpatient setting. The RN Nurse Manager Ortho will play an essential part in clinical operations, staffing coordination, and quality improvement initiatives. Located on the hospital’s second floor, this role is central to daily hospital operations and plays a key role in driving positive change during a time of organizational transition.

• Lead with a balanced approach—demonstrating both authority and collaboration—to support staff and adapt to change.
• Manage real-time floor needs, staffing challenges, and patient throughput efficiently and positively.
• Conduct charting audits and ensure accuracy and timeliness of documentation.
• Oversee and support the integration of quality reporting systems and compliance initiatives.
• Prepare the team for future transitions, including the migration from Cerner to Epic in 2026.
• Serve as a key support to nursing staff and providers without clinic responsibilities—this role is fully inpatient-based.
• Report directly to senior hospital nursing leadership and support system-wide improvement efforts.
Qualifications
• Registered Nurse (RN) with an active New Mexico license (or compact state eligibility).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory nursing role.
• Experience in orthopedic, med/surg, or post-operative care preferred.
• Proficient in Cerner; experience with or ability to transition to Epic.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a positive, resilient approach to change.
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a dynamic environment while fostering collaboration across disciplines.
