Job Description
Title: Staff Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounts payable processing and maintain both physical and electronic records
- Prepare journal entries and assist with timely month-end general ledger close
- Produce monthly cash flow reports and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
- Process loan and grant disbursements; collaborate with program officers on approvals
- Support financial documentation and adjustments for grants and projects
- Assist with ADP payroll processing as needed
- Complete bank reconciliations and prepare monthly loan invoices
- Maintain internal controls and support ongoing policy/process improvements
- Participate in year-end financial analysis and audit support tasks
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required, ideally in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Prior experience with Blackbaud accounting software strongly preferred
- Familiarity with federal, city, or state grant funding a plus
- Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy under deadlines
- Must be professional, punctual, and focused, with strong communication skills
