Job Description

Job Summary:

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on assigned construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage subcontractors, coordinate with project stakeholders, and drive project progress on the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all onsite construction activities.
  • Enforce project plans, specifications, schedules, and safety protocols.
  • Serve as the primary onsite liaison between project management, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • Monitor work progress, quality control, and site safety compliance.
  • Identify and resolve field issues and conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily site meetings and safety briefings.
  • Maintain daily reports, site logs, and other documentation.
  • Ensure proper sequencing of work and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to align fieldwork with project requirements.
  • Verify that materials and workmanship meet required standards.
  • Monitor labor productivity and enforce company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a superintendent or similar supervisory role in commercial construction.
  • Proven track record managing projects from ground-up to completion.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and a commitment to job site safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily field-based with exposure to varying weather conditions and construction site environments.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate job sites for extended periods.
  • May require occasional weekend or evening work depending on project needs.
