Job Description

Job Summary:

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations on assigned construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality. The role involves close coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on safety, planning, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities and personnel.
  • Implement and enforce project schedules, safety protocols, and quality control plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers, design professionals, and clients to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and manage daily workflow to maintain progress and avoid delays.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor performance and ensure compliance with project documents and safety standards.
  • Lead site meetings with subcontractors and team members to review progress, resolve issues, and plan upcoming work.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, safety records, and field changes.
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively, escalating critical items as needed.
  • Ensure that materials, equipment, and inspections are coordinated and scheduled appropriately.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a superintendent or field supervisor in commercial or light industrial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, site logistics, scheduling, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing subcontractors and field teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in construction software platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in construction management or related field preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Field-based position requiring regular exposure to active construction environments.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required depending on project demands.
