Temp-to-perm position
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
8a-4p, Mon-Fri, occasional weekends
Are weekends involved? Monthly
Pathology Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prosection of biopsies from all tissue sites
- Performance of autopsies as needed
- Prosection of specimens requiring simple and complex dissection, selection of sections for analyses to fulfill all CAP requirements for the specific tissue evaluations
- Provide appropriate dictation to fulfill all CAP requirements for the specific tissue evaluations.
- When necessary produce labeled cassettes and slides
- Be capable of preparing frozen section slides including prosection, cryostat sectioning and routine staining
- Be capable of providing gross photographic pictures
- Pursue required CME's for the incumbent’s certification
- Maintain a clean orderly gross station
Requirements for the position, degree, years of experience
- NYSDOH License
- American Society of Clinical Pathologists License (ASCP) – PA License
- Graduation from an accredited Pathologist Assistant Program, with a minimum of a Bachelors in Science required
