Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction (Greater Indianapolis Area)

A well-established commercial contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to take the lead on high-profile construction projects across Indiana. This is a leadership opportunity for someone with strong client-facing experience, a track record of delivering complex builds on time and within budget, and the ability to mentor junior staff while managing financial performance from preconstruction through closeout.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects, from kickoff through turnover
- Act as the primary liaison between ownership, design teams, and subcontractors to maintain alignment and drive communication
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with schedule, budget, contract specs, and safety standards
- Collaborate with field superintendents to ensure quality execution and resolve onsite issues
- Track project financials including billing, cost reports, change orders, and budget forecasting
- Participate in project strategy sessions and client meetings to maintain transparency and trust
- Manage procurement, review shop drawings and submittals, and enforce contract terms
- Mentor and oversee junior Project Managers, Engineers, and administrative team members
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s a plus)
- 10+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects, ideally including multifamily, mixed-use, healthcare, or urban developments
- Proven leadership capabilities managing internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling tools, and project management software (Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.)
- Clear and professional communication style with a client-first mindset
- Ability to lead by example, think on your feet, and solve problems in real time
