Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Construction Superintendent to oversee all phases of construction projects from initial groundbreaking to final completion. The Lead Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct all field operations on assigned project(s), including subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Serve as the primary on-site leader, providing direction to site personnel and ensuring effective communication with project management, clients, and vendors.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules, safety programs, and quality control standards.
  • Monitor daily productivity, resolve field issues, and anticipate/mitigate potential delays.
  • Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and provide daily reports and progress documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Manage inspections, permits, and compliance with local authorities and industry standards.
  • Mentor and supervise assistant superintendents, field engineers, and other site staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and professional jobsite culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial or large-scale residential construction.
  • Proven track record as a Lead Superintendent on projects valued at $25M or more.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project), and safety protocols (OSHA 30 required).
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid).
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
