Operating Room Nurse Manager Opportunity

Position Overview

A prominent healthcare institution nestled in California's picturesque wine country seeks an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to join their leadership team. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for surgical services across two campuses (10 total operating suites)
  • Oversee daily operations of 5 operating rooms at the main hospital and 5 operating rooms at the ambulatory surgery center
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of perioperative nursing staff
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives for surgical services
  • Manage fiscal responsibilities including budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with accreditation standards (TJC, AORN, CMS)
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with evidence-based practice
  • Participate in strategic planning to advance surgical services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred
  • Current California RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of operating room nursing experience
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in a surgical setting
  • CNOR certification strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in perioperative services
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with scheduling systems, quality metrics, and budget management
  • Track record of successful staff development and team building

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to an experienced Director of Nursing, providing the ideal balance of autonomy and mentorship.
