CVOR Nurse Manager (Cardiovascular Operating Room) – Los Angeles, CA

Job Responsibilities

           •         Provide comprehensive clinical and administrative leadership for all CVOR Nurse Manager functions, overseeing daily operations of 5 cardiovascular operating room suites

           •         Manage a team of 35 direct reports including RNs, surgical technologists, and support staff

           •         Coordinate scheduling and resource allocation for approximately 200 surgical cases monthly, including open heart procedures

           •         Develop and implement standards of nursing practice specific to cardiovascular surgical services

           •         Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies throughout the CVOR department

           •         Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists and other interdisciplinary team members

           •         Oversee staff recruitment, orientation, development, and retention strategies

           •         Manage departmental budget, inventory, and equipment needs

           •         Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes in the CVOR

           •         Implement evidence-based practices in cardiovascular surgical nursing

           •         Develop and maintain emergency and disaster protocols specific to the CVOR environment

Job Qualifications

           •         Current California RN license required

           •         BSN required, MSN preferred

           •         Minimum of 5 years cardiovascular operating room experience

           •         3+ years in nursing management or leadership roles

           •         CNOR certification required, additional cardiac-specific certifications preferred

           •         Demonstrated experience managing high-volume surgical services

           •         Strong understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including open heart operations

           •         Experience overseeing staffing and scheduling for multiple OR suites

           •         Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills

           •         Proficiency with electronic medical records and surgical management systems

           •         Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards for surgical services
