Job Description

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Locations: Metro Denver & Northern Colorado

Job Type: Full-Time Day Shift

Responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist:

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic or therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols.
  • Review patient history and relevant clinical information to confirm procedure appropriateness and screen for contraindications.
  • Clearly explain nuclear medicine procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring comfort, cooperation, and safety throughout the exam.
  • Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT systems, and related equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring precise patient positioning and adherence to radiation safety standards.
  • Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly to appropriate medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, administered doses, and patient data within the electronic medical record system.
  • Perform routine quality control and calibration of nuclear medicine equipment, reporting any issues or equipment failures immediately.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory standards and safety protocols, including those established by the NMTCB, ARRT, NRC, HIPAA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely and effective patient care.
  • Stay current with advances in nuclear medicine technology, radiopharmaceuticals, and continuing education requirements to maintain certification and deliver the highest quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • State license to practice nuclear medicine technology, if required by applicable law.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-focused and safety-driven mindset.
  • Experience with SPECT, PET, or hybrid imaging systems may be preferred or required depending on the position.
