Director of Nursing – Ambulatory Surgery Center
An ASC in Southern California is recruiting for a Director of Nursing. This state-of-the-art 4-OR surgical facility is part of a leading local healthcare system committed to providing exceptional patient care and surgical services to the Antelope Valley community. Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced nursing leader to serve as our Director of Nursing. In this key leadership role, you will oversee all nursing operations within our surgery center, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide strategic and clinical leadership to the nursing team
· Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care standards, policies, and procedures
· Ensure regulatory compliance with state licensing, AAAHC/Joint Commission, and other applicable requirements
· Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain optimal operational efficiency
· Lead quality improvement initiatives and risk management programs
· Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership
· Manage nursing budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment
· Foster a positive work culture that promotes professional development and team cohesion
· Participate in performance improvement activities and staff education
Qualifications
· Current RN license in the state of California
· BSN required, MSN preferred
· 5+ years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in a surgical setting
· Previous ambulatory surgery center or perioperative experience strongly preferred
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements for ASCs (AAAHC/Joint Commission)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Proven ability to lead and develop nursing staff
· Experience with quality improvement methodologies
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
