Job Description

A leading healthcare facility in Houston is seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse Manager for Labor & Delivery to lead a high-performing team in a busy, patient-focused maternity unit. This unit features 12 private LDR rooms and provides comprehensive care to families during one of the most important moments of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support nursing staff in delivering safe, compassionate, and efficient care in a fast-paced L&D environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, and patient flow across 12 LDR rooms.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and NICU teams to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives related to patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in the state of Texas (or compact state).
  • BSN required; MSN or related graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of labor & delivery nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or charge nurse role.
  • BLS and NRP required; additional maternal-child certifications (e.g., C-EFM, RNC-OB) strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
