Job Description
Title: Bookkeeper
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy in daily financial activity
- Post journal entries and perform reconciliations to maintain balanced ledgers
- Generate billing invoices and transmit EDI files including ASNs and invoice data
- Review and audit freight bills, shipping logs, and manifests for billing accuracy
- Scan remittance documents and enter customer payments on a daily basis
- Support collections by contacting customers and arranging payment for delinquent accounts
- Provide financial reports and summaries as requested by the Controller
- Serve as a backup for A/P functions and other accounting duties
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting education with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or 6+ years as a full-charge bookkeeper
- Proficient in Excel and general accounting software; EDI knowledge a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow up on outstanding items
- Effective verbal communication and phone skills
- Comfortable working onsite in a team-oriented environment
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or inventory-based setting preferred
