Job Description

Our client, a large, well established law firm in Morris County, NJ is looking for a legal biller to join their great firm.

This is a permanent, hybrid (4 days per week in office) position for the ideal candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process client invoices in accordance with attorney instructions and client billing guidelines.
  • Review pre-bills for accuracy and work with attorneys to make necessary edits.
  • Submit electronic bills using various e-billing platforms (e.g., Bill4Time, Legal Tracker, CounselLink).
  • Monitor billing deadlines and follow up with attorneys or clients as needed.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and organized billing records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile accounts receivable and address payment issues.
  • Generate reports on billing activity and status for attorneys and management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with legal billing software and e-billing platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
