Job Description

The Healthcare Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the planning, coordination, and execution of healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires experience working in active hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, and/or medical office buildings, with a focus on safety, infection control, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of healthcare construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and client communication
  • Oversee preconstruction activities such as estimating, constructability reviews, and value engineering
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure milestones are met
  • Coordinate with healthcare facility staff to minimize disruptions and ensure patient safety
  • Lead project meetings with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal personnel
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards including ICRA, HIPAA, and OSHPD (where applicable)
  • Track and report project costs, change orders, and billing to ensure profitability
  • Enforce site safety, cleanliness, and infection control protocols
  • Provide leadership to on-site superintendents and project engineers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial construction
  • Hospital project experience highly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage projects in occupied healthcare environments
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, and healthcare-specific protocols
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and ICRA training preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Hospital renovations and expansions
  • Imaging suites (MRI/CT) and surgical centers
  • Working knowledge of AHCA, OSHPD, and Joint Commission standards (as applicable)
