Job Description

Behavioral Health Clinical Director – Eating Disorder Inpatient Program

Take the helm of a 25‑bed adult inpatient program dedicated to Eating Disorders and Trauma. You’ll shape the clinical vision, lead a multidisciplinary team, and drive excellence in recovery‑focused care — all from a vibrant, walkable suburb just minutes from Washington, D.C.

🎯 Core Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Leadership

  • Provide 24/7 oversight of the adult Eating Disorder & Trauma inpatient unit, ensuring exceptional clinical standards and smooth operations.

Team Supervision & Development

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team—including RNs, LPNs, therapists, and counselors—through performance management, ongoing training, and mentorship.

Discharge Planning & Continuity of Care

  • Oversee comprehensive discharge planning to ensure that every patient transitions into aftercare with strong support systems and access to community resources.

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Work closely with nursing leadership and medical directors to uphold clinical policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation readiness.

Direct Clinical Engagement

  • Maintain a small caseload, offering individual, group, or family therapy as needed, enhancing your leadership impact through direct patient care.

Certification Oversight

  • Ensure all staff maintain BLS and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certifications within mandated timelines to support safe, high-quality care.

👤 Ideal Candidate

We welcome experienced clinical leaders holding one of the following licenses:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – psychiatric/mental health
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW/LCSW)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent

Qualifications include:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s + advanced licensure in a behavioral health discipline
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory or leadership experience in inpatient mental health—ideally within eating disorder or trauma services
  • Demonstrated expertise in trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented clinical care and discharge planning
