This role is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in field operations and a strong desire to work in fast-paced, technical environments where attention to detail, safety, and quality are paramount.

As a Traveling Assistant Superintendent, you will support on-site leadership in coordinating daily field activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with strict industry standards for clean construction and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily job site operations, assisting the Superintendent in scheduling, coordination, and subcontractor management
  • Enforce project-specific safety standards, site cleanliness, and regulatory compliance (including food safety protocols when applicable)
  • Monitor work progress and report on milestones, schedule adherence, and field issues
  • Conduct and document quality inspections, ensuring conformance to project specs and industry standards
  • Manage delivery logistics, site access, and material staging with an eye on efficiency and organization
  • Keep accurate daily reports, photographs, and logs
  • Foster positive relationships with subcontractors, clients, and internal project teams

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in construction; prior experience with cold storage, food & beverage processing, or light industrial projects strongly preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (typically Monday–Friday, occasional weekends as required)
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and job site safety
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and reporting
  • Comfortable working in temperature-controlled or active food environments, when necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or similar construction software is a plus
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary with travel per diem
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities
