Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review U.S. federal and multi-state income, sales/use, property, and excise tax filings in collaboration with internal teams and third-party providers
  • Perform monthly sales and use tax accruals, reviewing vendor invoices and applying exemptions where applicable
  • Ensure compliance with domestic tax payment deadlines, including quarterly estimates and withholding requirements
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes by preparing tax accruals and reconciliations
  • Manage and update the internal tax calendar, ensuring awareness of filing obligations and process deadlines
  • Research changes in state and federal tax legislation that may impact compliance or nexus
  • Utilize tools like Alteryx to automate and streamline tax workflows and reporting
  • Reconcile and analyze fixed asset depreciation using BNA software, comparing book and tax treatments
  • Respond to audit inquiries and tax authority notices, independently or in coordination with advisors
  • Support additional tax and treasury-related projects, including documentation of internal policies and procedures

Preferred Background:

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance, including federal and multi-state filings
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
  • Experience in a dynamic, multi-entity organization (media or tech industry a plus)
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Alteryx (strongly preferred)
  • Proficient in Excel, especially working with large data sets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
  • Experience with OneSource, GoSystem Tax, or BNA Fixed Assets preferred
  • CPA or CPA track highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
