About the Opportunity
A top-ranked and award-winning general contractor is seeking a dynamic Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects across multiple market sectors. The APM will work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and trade partners to help manage construction operations from preconstruction through turnover, with opportunities to grow into a Project Manager role in the near future.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist in preparing and managing RFIs, submittals, and document control systems
- Help review contract documents to identify scope clarity, potential gaps, and coordination issues
- Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and field leadership on project execution
- Support the development and maintenance of project schedules and look-aheads
- Track and process change orders, project costs, and billing
- Prepare meeting minutes, punch lists, and closeout documentation
- Maintain communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor safety processes and collaborate with the field team on compliance
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of construction experience in a project support or APM role
- Working knowledge of commercial building systems, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Familiarity with construction software (Procore preferred; Sage or similar estimating tools a plus)
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong communicator
- Team-first attitude with a desire to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment
