VP of Consulting – Advisory (Public/Consulting)

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

• Oversee the overall service delivery of consulting 
• Lead best practices & review projects 
• Ensure high and consistent quality services across all clients and services 
• Lead consulting projects and ongoing client engagements within budget and time 
• Develop and implement technology initiatives at clients 
• Research technology tools and applications; stay abreast of industry developments 
• Stay up to date with internal control compliance and ensure all team members and clients are informed especially as it related to new accounting pronouncements and regulations 
• Responsible for recruiting, supervising, mentoring, and developing team members 
• Assist management with developing and implementing strategic goals for the organization 
• Identify opportunities for potential revenue increases and product lines of business 
• Assist in developing standardized tools – people, process, systems for implementation at clients 
• Serve as a change agent as it relates to identifying and recommending the introduction of company policies, and internal business pivots and opportunities 
• Assist in setting revenue goals 
• Participate in pitches, proposals, and client engagement process when applicable 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred (CPA or MBA) 
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting and consulting experience 
• Experience leading or supporting the integration and / or stand up efforts of a finance function 
• Superior problem-solving and analytical skills that can be utilized to translate disparate data into meaningful insights for our clients 
• Willingness to get your hands dirty in the details of a project while simultaneously seeing the whole picture 
• Must be comfortable working in multiple accounting environments and balancing several clients’ needs and demands 
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools  
• Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting systems. 
• Excellent communication skills, both speaking and writing. 
• Highly personable and possess strong client communication and management skills 
• Expert knowledge of various accounting software  
• Experience in documenting procedures and conducting interviews 
• Knowledgeable in internal controls and implementing changes to improve controls 
• Strong motivation and ability to learn new applications 
• Knowledge of accounting software required
