Controller

Responsibilities: 

• Preparation of monthly financial reporting on a consolidated and divisional basis 
• Monthly P&Ls, cashflow and balance sheets 
• Chief Accounting Officer [GAAP and Policies & Procedures compliance] 
• Supervision and oversight of a Staff Accountant and a Financial Operations Manager 
• Maintain general ledger system for all legal entities 
• Design, implementation & interface of systems [banking, payroll & A/P] 
• Develop automated internal and external reporting tools 
• Primary contact with external tax firms during the year, including reporting to external investors 
• Primary contact for auditors during their engagement and ongoing inquires 
• Development of Policy & Procedures Manual 
• Implement changes and recommendations from the audit report 

Qualifications: 

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in a controller role  
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration; MBA preferred 
• CPA required, with strong operational and technical accounting concepts preferred 
• Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP) 
• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis 
• Proven payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes 
• Exemplary history of financial project management 
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting 
• Strong organizational and analytical skills  
• A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality, must be a team player who is committed to lifelong learning 
• A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment 
• An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills
