Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform high-quality MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Review patient history and assess clinical information to ensure appropriateness of imaging examinations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort and safety.
- Accurately position patients and operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
- Administer contrast agents and monitor patients for adverse reactions during imaging.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records, including procedure notes.
- Perform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated diagnostic care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes to uphold imaging excellence.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by ARRT, with MRI certification required within 12 months.
- State licensure as required by applicable law.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience, with 2 years preferred in MRI imaging.
- Strong knowledge of MRI protocols, patient safety, and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in MRI technology.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
