Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring adherence to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Review patient history and clinical indications to determine the most appropriate imaging approach.
  • Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation throughout the process.
  • Operate sonographic equipment to obtain optimal images for accurate diagnosis.
  • Monitor patient responses during procedures and report any concerning changes to clinical personnel.
  • Document procedure details, image findings, and patient interactions in the electronic medical record system.
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality assurance of sonographic equipment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to support comprehensive, timely patient care.
  • Stay updated with advances in sonographic techniques and emerging technologies.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  • Registered by ARDMS or CCI in applicable specialty areas, such as OB/GYN, Abdomen, Breast, Vascular, or Adult Echo.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred for advanced roles.
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in hospital or outpatient imaging settings is preferred.
