Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring adherence to physician orders and established protocols.
- Review patient history and clinical indications to determine the most appropriate imaging approach.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation throughout the process.
- Operate sonographic equipment to obtain optimal images for accurate diagnosis.
- Monitor patient responses during procedures and report any concerning changes to clinical personnel.
- Document procedure details, image findings, and patient interactions in the electronic medical record system.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality assurance of sonographic equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to support comprehensive, timely patient care.
- Stay updated with advances in sonographic techniques and emerging technologies.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Registered by ARDMS or CCI in applicable specialty areas, such as OB/GYN, Abdomen, Breast, Vascular, or Adult Echo.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred for advanced roles.
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in hospital or outpatient imaging settings is preferred.
