Overview

  • Join a boutique investment firm specializing in alternative investments, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Work on-site in Stamford, CT, with convenient access to transportation and amenities.
  • Contribute to a newly created Controller role, reflecting the firm’s growth and strategic expansion.
  • Collaborate with a small, high-performing team, reporting directly to the CFO and Partner.
  • Engage with fund accounting, financial reporting, portfolio analytics, and compliance functions.
  • Gain exposure to investment processes, investor communications, and strategic operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage fund accounting processes, including NAV close and performance reporting.
  • Coordinate annual financial statement and tax return preparation with external administrators.
  • Calculate portfolio exposures, performance attribution, and liquidity metrics.
  • Support compliance programs and regulatory filings, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Provide financial data for investor relations and marketing materials.
  • Collaborate on portfolio modeling and trade execution with research teams.
  • Contribute to firm-wide process improvements and operational initiatives.
  • Manage special projects requiring finance expertise and cross-functional coordination.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in public/private CPA roles, preferably with hedge funds.
  • CPA certification is preferred, showcasing technical expertise in fund accounting.
  • Strong soft skills, including communication, reliability, and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work well within a team and manage multiple deliverables independently.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven, with a structured approach to tasks.
  • Experience in fund administration or public accounting is considered valuable.
