Job Description

Overview

  • Lead payroll operations for 5,000+ employees across all US states in a unionized environment.
  • Manage complex payroll systems, ensuring compliance and accuracy across multiple legal entities.
  • Contribute to payroll system improvements, including testing and integration of Oracle Fusion.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to enhance controls and rebuild trust.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Strengthen SOPs and drive accountability within the payroll team.
  • Support a hybrid payroll model with in-house processing and ADP tax compliance.
  • Travel required to Jacksonville for operational oversight and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and develop a team of payroll professionals, fostering knowledge transfer and growth.
  • Ensure seamless payroll processing for hourly, unionized, and salaried employees.
  • Implement reconciliation, validation, and variance analysis to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Oversee compliance with state requirements for termination pay and other regulations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve payroll operations and rebuild trust.
  • Contribute to Oracle Fusion payroll system enhancements and testing.
  • Manage multiple weekly and bi-weekly payrolls across various legal entities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and garnishments through ADP support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale payrolls; 10 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in Oracle Fusion payroll systems, including implementation and testing.
  • Experience in unionized environments with high turnover and large hourly-rate populations.
  • Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and drive accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and improve payroll processes.
  • Comfortable with hybrid working model requiring 4 days on-site.
