Overview
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in an ambulatory care setting, ensuring patient-centered services and promoting health maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and achieve patient care goals effectively.
- Educate patients and families on treatments, procedures, and self-care strategies to enhance understanding and compliance.
- Demonstrate expertise in assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in health problems.
- Maintain compliance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality care delivery.
- Participate in continuing professional development and in-service education programs to enhance skills.
- Utilize clinical knowledge to perform therapeutic treatments and procedures effectively.
- Promote patient safety and infection control in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health status to determine healthcare needs.
- Perform triage for sick and walk-in patients, ensuring timely and appropriate care.
- Administer medications and initiate respiratory interventions following established standards.
- Coordinate emergency referrals and provide immediate response during critical situations.
- Educate patients and families on treatments, tests, and procedures, ensuring comprehension and compliance.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Supervise and mentor allied nursing personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance care quality and efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse with current RN Registration Certificate in New York State.
- Minimum of one year of experience in ambulatory, medical surgery, or ER settings preferred.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, medication administration, and immunizations.
- Current certifications in BCLS, Infection Control, and Child Abuse prevention.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others effectively.
- Strong clinical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills, including typing and familiarity with healthcare information systems.
- Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
