Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist providers with clinical services, including patient preparation, vital signs, and specimen collection, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient registration processes.
  • Monitor patient flow and address any issues related to registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists, ensuring timely communication and accurate transfer of medical records.
  • Support population health campaigns and initiatives, assisting patients in accessing necessary care and closing gaps in treatment.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive care experience.
  • Participate in direct patient care activities, including diagnostic testing and patient education, under the supervision of licensed professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, maintaining patient confidentiality and professional decorum.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting required.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems is essential.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and ability to perform age-specific patient care functions.
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, including scheduling and patient registration.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, customer service excellence, and effective communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying assignments and work locations as needed.
  • Preferred: Associate degree and 3 years of experience in a similar role.
