Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the accounting operations for a dynamic consumer products company experiencing rapid growth and expansion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strategic insights.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations, and cycle counts.
  • Provide leadership to the accounting team, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Enhance internal controls and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Support ERP system improvements to optimize inventory and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with FP&A to drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for audits and filings.
  • Contribute strategic financial insights to support organizational growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Mentor and lead the accounting team, setting clear goals and expectations.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including standard costing and obsolescence analysis.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to enhance inventory accuracy and controls.
  • Maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting and COGS.
  • Assist in ERP system enhancements to improve reporting and inventory management.
  • Support external audits and tax compliance activities.
  • Develop and implement scalable accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial insights to support product launches and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in inventory accounting within consumer products or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
