Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise daily laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to protocols and quality standards.
- Manage laboratory staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and training initiatives.
- Oversee compliance with institutional, industry, and federal regulations governing laboratory practices.
- Coordinate resource allocation between shared campuses to optimize laboratory efficiency.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve laboratory goals and objectives.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results to support clinical decision-making.
- Maintain knowledge of scientific principles and technical aspects of laboratory testing procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient care through laboratory services.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
- At least three years of leadership experience in a laboratory setting, acute care preferred.
- State licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards including TJC, DHS, and CLIA 88.
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing principles and their clinical applications.
- Proficiency in laboratory management, financial oversight, and human resource practices.
- Ability to manage shared resources and staff across multiple campuses.
