Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Tax Analyst, focusing on compliance and accounting for various tax types including income, franchise, and sales & use taxes.
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure accurate reporting and timely payments following GAAP and ASC 740 principles.
  • Analyze tax calculations and rates for compliance with applicable county regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify tax-saving opportunities and enhance compliance efficiency.
  • Maintain professional competence and knowledge through ongoing training and development.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, codes, and regulations applicable to the position.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual tax compliance tasks for sales, use, and other taxes.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly tax accrual schedules, ensuring compliance with ASC 740 principles.
  • Analyze tax holds and rates for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Identify potential tax issues and opportunities for savings, optimizing compliance processes.
  • Develop schedules and reconciliations summarizing the company’s tax position for management review.
  • Interact effectively with company personnel to address tax-related matters.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or tax roles.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication for preparing schedules and reconciliations.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in spreadsheet and database software.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and ASC 740 principles for tax accounting.
