Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the development and management of outpatient oncology pharmacy services, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to build and expand oncology service lines in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Oversee pharmacy distributive services, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety.
  • Actively manage pharmacy staff, fostering engagement and competency in standardized work and lean processes.
  • Integrate clinical pharmacy programs and facilitate drug utilization initiatives to advance medication management practices.
  • Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, adhering to state Board of Pharmacy regulations and maintaining compliance.
  • Participate in committee involvement and business literacy activities to support organizational goals.
  • Contribute to the development of the cancer center, collaborating with physicians and corporate pharmacy teams.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage day-to-day operations of outpatient oncology pharmacy services, ensuring efficient and compliant processes.
  • Oversee drug acquisition and management, collaborating with corporate pharmacy teams and oncology professionals.
  • Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, promoting professional growth and maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Implement and monitor clinical pharmacy programs to enhance patient outcomes and medication safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop the oncology service line and cancer center.
  • Utilize Epic Beacon and 340B knowledge to optimize pharmacy operations and patient care.
  • Drive initiatives for medication management, drug utilization, and clinical program integration.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required, with RPH license in state of employment.
  • Minimum of 6 years of technical experience, with 8 years preferred.
  • Leadership or management experience of 2-5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Epic Beacon and 340B knowledge essential for role success.
  • Experience in outpatient oncology pharmacy services and drug acquisition management highly desirable.
  • Strong collaboration and confidence in face-to-face physician interactions.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
