Overview
- Lead the development and management of outpatient oncology pharmacy services, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to build and expand oncology service lines in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Oversee pharmacy distributive services, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety.
- Actively manage pharmacy staff, fostering engagement and competency in standardized work and lean processes.
- Integrate clinical pharmacy programs and facilitate drug utilization initiatives to advance medication management practices.
- Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, adhering to state Board of Pharmacy regulations and maintaining compliance.
- Participate in committee involvement and business literacy activities to support organizational goals.
- Contribute to the development of the cancer center, collaborating with physicians and corporate pharmacy teams.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of outpatient oncology pharmacy services, ensuring efficient and compliant processes.
- Oversee drug acquisition and management, collaborating with corporate pharmacy teams and oncology professionals.
- Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, promoting professional growth and maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Implement and monitor clinical pharmacy programs to enhance patient outcomes and medication safety.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop the oncology service line and cancer center.
- Utilize Epic Beacon and 340B knowledge to optimize pharmacy operations and patient care.
- Drive initiatives for medication management, drug utilization, and clinical program integration.
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required, with RPH license in state of employment.
- Minimum of 6 years of technical experience, with 8 years preferred.
- Leadership or management experience of 2-5 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Epic Beacon and 340B knowledge essential for role success.
- Experience in outpatient oncology pharmacy services and drug acquisition management highly desirable.
- Strong collaboration and confidence in face-to-face physician interactions.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
