Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential laboratory services under the supervision of the Laboratory Director, ensuring compliance with accepted standards and practices.
  • Perform laboratory procedures to support accurate diagnosis and effective medical treatment monitoring.
  • Work on-site during scheduled shifts, including night hours and alternating weekends.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care through precise laboratory results.
  • Contribute to maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize advanced laboratory techniques and equipment to perform diagnostic tests efficiently.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct laboratory tests and procedures following established protocols and standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory findings to healthcare providers.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements in all laboratory activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize laboratory workflows and efficiency.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to uphold laboratory standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and trainees as needed.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT); ASCP or AMT(HHS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited clinical laboratory training program is essential.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with state, federal, and accrediting body regulations governing laboratory operations.
  • Ability to work night shifts and alternating weekends as per schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
