Overview

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide peer support, sharing personal insights to assist families in navigating challenges.
- Advocate for families' needs, rights, and access to services within complex systems.
- Educate families on their rights, available resources, and system navigation strategies.
- Support families in setting priorities and achieving their desired outcomes.
- Facilitate connections to community resources, support groups, and services.
- Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and case managers for integrated family support.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and maintain certification.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Credentialed Family Peer Advocate (FPA-C) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field or equivalent lived experience.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Bengali, Mandarin, or Cantonese is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills are essential.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and person-centered recovery models preferred.
- Ability to travel locally to meet families and attend community events.
- Experience in behavioral health or social services settings is advantageous.
- Commitment to cultural competency and respect for diverse backgrounds.
