Overview
- Design and maintain the client's data networks ensuring stability and performance.
- Assist in planning, designing, and developing LANs, MANs, WANs, and wireless networks.
- Analyze and resolve network, wireless, VOIP, and video hardware/software issues.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for network hardware/software enhancements.
- Collaborate with management to assess network capacity needs.
- Create and maintain documentation for network architecture and configurations.
- Coordinate with IT teams for disaster recovery and business continuity programs.
- Provide senior-level technical support for network systems and components.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and deploy network systems including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Configure networks for optimal operation and business process fulfillment.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as required.
- Establish performance standards and policies for network management.
- Collaborate with teams for knowledge transfer and system integration.
- Coordinate with carriers to resolve Internet and WAN circuit issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for network support.
- Travel to other offices as needed for network-related tasks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering; 10 years preferred.
- Proficiency in LAN/WAN protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and Ethernet.
- Experience with Cisco routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, and Checkpoint firewalls.
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCSP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-office environment.
