Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a technical leader transforming design concepts into precise construction documents with a focus on healthcare projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Project Designers, Interior Designers, and Project Managers to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and construction feasibility requirements throughout the design process.
  • Participate in owner/user meetings to incorporate project requirements into construction documents accurately.
  • Coordinate with engineers, builders, and equipment vendors for seamless project execution.
  • Perform construction administration duties, including shop drawing reviews and approvals.
  • Contribute to quality reviews and ensure technical requirements are met in collaboration with the Specification Writer.
  • Assist the Project Manager and perform other duties as assigned to support project success.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop construction documents aligning with design objectives and project requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and liaise with officials for necessary approvals.
  • Coordinate quality reviews with Project Assistants and ensure technical accuracy.
  • Lead owner/user meetings during the Design Development phase to address project needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, builders, and vendors for effective project execution.
  • Review and approve shop drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform construction administration duties and address project challenges proactively.
  • Assist the Project Manager and contribute to the overall success of the project.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Registered architect with 4-6 years of experience, preferably in healthcare projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and construction feasibility factors.
  • Proficiency in developing construction documents and technical specifications.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and liaising with officials.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate project requirements.
  • Effective communication skills for leading meetings and presenting project updates.
  • Licensed in Ohio with a strong commitment to healthcare-focused architectural practices.
