Job Description

Overview

  • Lead strategic, operational, and administrative functions of the laboratory services department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including CLIA and CAP.
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Oversee staffing, budgeting, and quality assurance within laboratory operations.
  • Collaborate on policy-setting committees and interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Lead a team of approximately 130 employees in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Contribute to the growth and transformation of the laboratory services department.
  • Support the mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care to the community.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage laboratory operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and oversee budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Recruit, train, and manage qualified personnel for laboratory functions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in organizational policy-setting and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance laboratory service quality and efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and innovation within the department.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory management; 7 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in regulatory compliance, including CLIA and CAP standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams effectively.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and operational strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics and continuous improvement methodologies.
