Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform both administrative duties and direct patient care to support healthcare operations.
  • Handle semi-routine assignments with minimal supervision, adhering to defined policies and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect diagnostic specimens.
  • Maintain examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure readiness for patient consultations.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records systems.
  • Contribute to a patient-centric environment, focusing on quality care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Discuss patient symptoms and obtain vital signs during consultations.
  • Administer medications and vaccines following established protocols and certifications.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect diagnostic specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Conduct diagnostic screening tests and assist in patient evaluations.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and fully equipped for patient care.
  • Document patient information and care activities in electronic medical records systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, including tuberculosis screening requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Medical Assistant training program.
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • CPR certification and compliance with tuberculosis screening protocols.
  • Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently within defined parameters.
