Overview
- Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Perform both administrative duties and direct patient care to support healthcare operations.
- Handle semi-routine assignments with minimal supervision, adhering to defined policies and standards.
- Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers for optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect diagnostic specimens.
- Maintain examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure readiness for patient consultations.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records systems.
- Contribute to a patient-centric environment, focusing on quality care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Discuss patient symptoms and obtain vital signs during consultations.
- Administer medications and vaccines following established protocols and certifications.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect diagnostic specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Conduct diagnostic screening tests and assist in patient evaluations.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and fully equipped for patient care.
- Document patient information and care activities in electronic medical records systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols, including tuberculosis screening requirements.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Medical Assistant training program.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- CPR certification and compliance with tuberculosis screening protocols.
- Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy preferred.
- Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently within defined parameters.
