Job Description

Overview

  • The Senior Billing Coordinator will manage client invoicing processes, ensuring compliance with billing requirements and maintaining detailed records.
  • Collaborate with partners and secretaries to create individualized billing plans tailored to preferences.
  • Monitor unbilled inventory proactively to identify opportunities for issuing bills efficiently.
  • Draft detailed and narrative invoices for partner and associate review, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze time entries and prepare legal bills and summary memoranda for clients.
  • Research and investigate time entry narratives to ensure appropriateness and compliance.
  • Act as a liaison between partners, clients, and billing support staff to finalize and submit invoices.
  • Adhere to firm information security policies and report potential security risks to management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor unbilled inventory for assigned billing partners to identify billing opportunities.
  • Prepare draft bill narratives for review by partners and associates.
  • Analyze and review time entries to draft legal bills and client memoranda.
  • Research time entry narratives to ensure accuracy and compliance with billing standards.
  • Collaborate with partners, clients, and billing support staff to finalize invoices.
  • Maintain firm and client information security and report potential risks.
  • Develop relationships with partners and secretaries to streamline billing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and procedures in all billing activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in law firm billing is essential.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
