Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys in the Alternative Investments practice.
  • Coordinate assignments and workflow, ensuring efficient operations within the practice.
  • Mentor new legal assistants, fostering professional growth and adherence to firm policies.
  • Conduct research, compile due diligence documents, and maintain organizational systems.
  • Prepare and distribute transaction-related documents and signature packets.
  • Assist with corporate formations, UCC filings, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support deal closings, including checklist preparation and document organization.
  • Maintain case contact information and assist with auditor requests.
  • Ensure accuracy in legal documents through proofreading and critical review.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and manage legal assistant assignments and workflows within the practice.
  • Mentor new legal assistants and provide guidance on firm policies.
  • Conduct research, organize due diligence documents, and maintain deal closing checklists.
  • Draft and distribute transaction-related documents and correspondence.
  • Prepare UCC filings, order lien searches, and oversee compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with corporate formations, including preparation and filing of formation documents.
  • Support closings, prepare closing binders, and manage document distribution.
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain and update case contact information and respond to auditor requests.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of CLO experience or 4 years in asset-backed securitization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with sound judgment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to become a notary public within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience with EDGAR filings and document apostilling preferred.
