Job Description

Overview

  • Manage and oversee the operational lifecycle of syndicated loan investments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in trade settlements and cash flow processing.
  • Collaborate with front office teams to address complex transactions and portfolio holdings, ensuring proper treatment and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team, fostering career development and skills advancement within the operations department.
  • Develop and implement workflows and controls to optimize performance, compliance, accounting, and reporting results.
  • Stay updated with market practices, regulatory changes, and industry standards affecting syndicated loan operations.
  • Participate in client relations activities, including providing detailed investment information and supporting due diligence processes.
  • Contribute to system implementations and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards for remote work and internet connectivity requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee loan closing processes, including trade detail reviews, documentation, AML/KYC compliance, and wire movements for funding trades.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of bank loan activities, including paydowns, rollovers, and interest payments.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations of loan positions and transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and enhance controls related to performance, valuation, and data quality within the operations framework.
  • Provide accurate and timely investment information to institutional clients, fostering strong relationships.
  • Lead and mentor a team, promoting collaboration and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement process improvements using technology, including automation and system upgrades.
  • Support business needs and projects by working flexible hours as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in bank loan operations, with 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in syndicated loan processes, LSTA documentation, and industry regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VBA and automation, and familiarity with data visualization tools like PowerBI.
  • Experience with loan-based software and database querying (e.g., SQL).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and adapt to dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and programming languages like Python preferred.
