Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Maternal Child Health department, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Oversee departmental operations, budgets, and staff performance to achieve organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff and administrative personnel.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of excellence in patient care and safety.
  • Support organizational initiatives and community outreach programs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the Maternal Child Health department, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.
  • Monitor departmental budget and financial performance, implementing cost-effective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient safety and care quality.
  • Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
  • Participate in strategic planning and organizational development activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an RN in Labor and Delivery.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience at a manager or director level.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and departmental operations effectively.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site and occasionally travel as required.
