Overview
- Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, delivering exceptional service and support in a healthcare setting.
- Perform administrative duties alongside clinical responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations and patient satisfaction.
- Work on semi-routine assignments requiring interpretation of policies and independent discretion.
- Collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver comprehensive care.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and perform diagnostic screening tests as per certification.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records systems.
- Maintain and sterilize examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure safety and hygiene.
- Contribute to the organization’s Tuberculosis screening program as part of patient-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Discuss symptoms with patients and obtain vital signs to assist in diagnosis.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for diagnostic purposes.
- Administer medications and vaccines following established protocols.
- Sterilize and clean medical equipment and maintain examination rooms.
- Document patient information into electronic medical records systems accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care.
- Adhere to standard policies and procedures while exercising independent discretion.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certification.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of MA training program preferred.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials preferred for specific states.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required; 5 years preferred.
- CPR certification required; TB screening participation mandatory.
- Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy preferred.
- Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience valued.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish advantageous; proficiency exam required.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM, on-site.
