Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential support to healthcare providers by assisting with clinical services and administrative tasks in a dynamic medical environment.
  • Engage with patients and guests, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience throughout their visit.
  • Perform patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification using electronic systems to maintain data accuracy.
  • Assist in direct patient care activities, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic tests under supervision.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to support population health initiatives and improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with medical protocols and confidentiality standards while delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in outreach programs to reduce unnecessary emergency visits and admissions.
  • Maintain professionalism and contribute to a cooperative and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Greet patients and guests, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-ups using electronic systems.
  • Perform patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication.
  • Assist in direct patient care activities, including vital signs monitoring and specimen collection.
  • Support healthcare campaigns and initiatives to improve patient health outcomes.
  • Handle patient inquiries and resolve service or clinical issues with professionalism.
  • Ensure the integrity of patient data and maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for national certification exam required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting required.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems required.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
  • Ability to perform direct patient care tasks, including phlebotomy and diagnostic tests.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work onsite during varying hours between 8 AM and 6 PM.
