Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patient care, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform clinical duties including vital signs, medication administration, phlebotomy, and diagnostic screenings.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as documentation in electronic medical records and maintaining examination rooms.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Work on semi-routine assignments with opportunities for independent discretion and prioritization.
  • Adhere to standard policies and procedures while interpreting area/department methods for task completion.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certification and training.
  • Participate in the company's Tuberculosis screening program as part of patient-facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Discuss patient symptoms and obtain vital signs to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Administer medications and vaccines following established protocols and certifications.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for diagnostic testing.
  • Sterilize and clean medical equipment, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Maintain examination rooms, ensuring readiness for patient appointments.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care and improve outcomes.
  • Interpret and apply department policies to complete assignments effectively.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 1+ years of experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required; compliance with Tuberculosis screening program mandatory.
  • Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish advantageous; proficiency exam required.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, on-site.
